The current Society grew from the interest shown at the History Of Llandudno exhibition held at the Mostyn Art Gallery during September 1985. An inaugural meeting took place in Llandudno Town Hall on Tuesday 15th April 1986 at 7.30 p.m., exactly 80 years to the month after the formation of its predecessor, The Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and District Field Club, and 30 years on since its demise.
The Society takes an active role to ensure the rich and diverse heritage of the area is recorded for future generations. It also acts as focal point for those with a common interest in local history and provides a diverse programme of lectures and field trips over the year. Within the Society site there are many links other groups and a substantial sources of knowledge to items local to the area.
